FSR welcomes Flatbread

Harry Blakeman, the creative force behind the comedic character DJ Raw Nasty, and the founder of Forward Slash Records, will be releasing his first record ever on the May 25, 2012! He’ll be using the stage name Flatbread for this, and all future records. It is minimalist experimentalism, so it probably won’t sound all that appealing to the ear…

Obituary of Raw Nasty

Born January 1, 1985 in Lincoln City, Oregon to the Nasty family, DJ Raw Nasty grew up with a passion for music. Although not academically gifted, DJRN found an outlet in music, and this natural talent allowed him to ignore his school troubles. He was influenced by a number of artists, and he consumed their discographies. String, Rihanna, and N*Sync made his eyes well up with tears of joy. After being held back for several years, DJRN decided to record for the first time during one of his senior years and released his first single on September 19, 2010. The track, known as “Debut,” immediately lit up the charts. His passion for recording led him to finally complete high school and join the Class of 2003 a mere eight years late in 2011.

The next year-and-a-half would be, to use his words, “a whirlwind.” Releasing some of history’s best and biggest albums in his short career (including Stank and the Moistvolution series), his personal favorite was his most recent album Abstraction. After his move to Portland, Oregon, DJRN became prolific. His legacy will always be remembered by the four singles, three EPs, and four studio albums he dropped during his lifetime. This body of work will forever remain the hallmark of his 27 years.

Survived only by his manager and legal heir, Harry Blakeman, DJ Raw Nasty’s true survivors will be his amazingly devoted, diverse, and passionate fans.

DJ Raw Nasty dead

Not long into a flight to Japan, where he would be touring (with opening act Gotye), DJ Raw Nasty’s plane went down in the late evening hours of May 4, 2012. It appears that no one has survived the crash, and the victims have been lost at sea. Please keep his family in your thoughts. Obituary to follow.
